Last week were the Red Bull Air Races in Downtown Detroit. I have a pretty decent view from my desk and got to watch them practice. If you haven't checked it out, it's pretty SWEET. These teeny tiny planes zip down the river at over 200 MPH. They fly between the inflatable pylons and do spins and stuff. If they hit the pylons, they deflate and a team rushes out from the sidelines and re-inflates them. Saturday and Sunday were the actual races. Friday was just practice. But never the less, it was cool to watch.
On Friday I walked down by the river and checked them out for a few minutes on my lunch hour. I got a video which I will try to post also.
Now I know why Red Bull costs so much...
